The history of GIBEN began in 1947, at the end of World War II, in Bologna when Gino Benuzzi decided to start his own business called "Gino Benuzzi snc”.
It was a good period for classic woodworking machines and the new of machinery of the young talent from Bologna is greatly appreciated.
The range was extended and in a few years the customer is no longer local or regional, but becomes first national and then international.
But the turning point came in the ‘60s, thanks to the advent of particle board and the need of an equipment suited to work the material, Gino Benuzzi – capable designer and diligent businessman, careful about the changes of the industry, invents the panel saw with pressure tank moving blade, a complete revolution.

Slowly but intensely the market understands the huge innovative power of these machines in the late ‘60s and the demand is likely to force and devote himself exclusively to the field of panels sizing.
This is how Giben Spa was born.
Thanks to his business mentality and vision of a modern distribution, Benuzzi understands the importance of creating commercial companies in major countries around the world, to ensure a good service and after sales.
Today Giben is an industrial group which is headed by ‘Giben International SpA’ in the most important countries in the world, not only with its subsidiaries, but also productive units: after a trip to Brazil, Gino Benuzzi understands the potential and in the mid- ‘70s, he decides to set up a production company: Giben do Brasil. |
